About Us - Don's Drapery

Our Story

It all began in 1952, when Marie started making slipcovers, draperies, and bedspreads from home, for relatives. Then, in 1956, her husband Don decided it was time to join her and open a custom drapery workroom.

In 1957, Don & Marie opened a small shop in Belleville with 2 employees. Over the next decade, they had to keep moving into larger quarters to accommodate the increased workload. In 1973, they purchased the current location at 145 Heckel Street in Belleville, NJ.

Today, Don’s Drapery Manufacturing operates one of the largest and most modernly equipped drapery workrooms in New Jersey. Drapes, roman shades, pillows, cornices, upholstery, we will help make your decoration project a reality.
